Abstract

The implementation of faith education and the Qur'an has an important ‎role in human life. Almost all Islamic educational institutions put forward these ‎two materials. However, many of these educational institutions have the same ‎pattern in learning, which is limited to theory. The lack of application of existing ‎knowledge makes the pioneers of Islamic education bring back the kuttab model ‎of education. Kuttab Ibn Abbas is one of the Islamic educational institutions that ‎carries faith and the Qur'an as the main curriculum design. All existing subjects ‎lead to faith.‎ The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on all sectors of life, including the ‎education sector. Kuttab is an institution that concentrates on education of faith, ‎the Qur'an, and adab. The content of the lesson really requires direct interaction ‎between teachers and students. How kuttab to overcome these problems is an ‎interesting matter to study, because talking about educational issues is not only ‎about gaining knowledge but also about values, cooperation, and competence.‎ The aims of this research are: 1) To know the implementation of faith and ‎Qur'an education before and during the Covid-19 pandemic in Kuttab Ibnu ‎Abbas Surakarta. 2) Knowing the advantages and disadvantages of the kuttab ‎model of education. 3) Knowing the obstacles and solutions in implementing ‎faith education and the Qur'an during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Kuttab Ibn ‎Abbas Surakarta.‎ This field research uses a qualitative research paradigm, namely research ‎that describes the implementation of faith education and the Qur'an in Kuttab ‎Ibnu Abbas Surakarta during the Covid-19 pandemic. The data in this study ‎were collected from the results of interviews, observations, and documentation. ‎The data analysis used is circular with data reduction, data display, drawing ‎conclusions and verification.‎ The results of the research are the implementation of faith education and ‎the Qur'an before the Covid-19 pandemic at Kuttab Ibn Abbas was carried out ‎with the idolqoh model, the teacher delivered faith and Qur'an material with ‎various methods. Meanwhile, learning during the pandemic is carried out using ‎an online method, namely by using the zoom meeting application, so that ‎teachers can directly meet face-to-face virtually and at the same time assess the ‎attitudes of the students. For the implementation of faith, Qur'an, and adab ‎assigned amaliyah with parental control via google form. In addition to the ‎online method, Kuttab Ibn Abbas also held face-to-face learning during the ‎pandemic by implementing health protection. The learning is carried out in an ‎idolatrous manner with the application of protkes and there is a selection of ‎important materials due to the reduction in face-to-face hours.‎
