Abstract
Many factors can cause flooding such as changing green land into occupied areas, littering in rivers. This can undoubtedly cause property and time losses. This paper describes the results of research on the use of IoT for monitoring altitude and water pollution. Study result are expected to minimize public losses from flooding and water pollution by providing an early warning system. The system was developed by making a tool that will monitor water quality, both its acidity (pH), temperature, and water levels using ultrasonic sensors. This tool will be connected to the user's smartphone, thus enabling remote monitoring, and providing early warning more quickly. The device developed consists of 2 blocks, namely block transmitter and block receiver. Block transmitter consists of 3 sensors, namely ultrasonic sensor hc-sr04, pH sensor SKU: SEN0161, temperature sensor DS18B20, and LoRa32u4, the block transmitter works to send and process data. The block receiver functions as a receiver, display data, and also sends data, the data will be displayed on a 16x2 LCD, the data received by the LoRa32u4 block receiver will be processed by serial software which is then sent to the ESP8266 nodeMCU which is connected to a wifi internet connection and then sent to the blynk application. From the results that have been obtained, the IoT application that monitors water levels and water pollution remotely gives satisfactory results, in the results of the study the 3 sensors can work simultaneously and in their measurements have a fairly stable value. Of the 3 sensors, the altitude, pH, and temperature sensors have an average difference or standard deviation of less than 10.
