Abstract

Instagram as social media is indeed the right medium for marketing communication. Especially through Instagram, business people can interact directly with consumers who are or are not followers of a brand. The background of this research is the fact that the Online Shop @nellcodoxshop uses Instagram social media to promote its products and through this Instagram media, the sales turnover of its products has increased every year. Theoretically, a marketing communication strategy is an attempt to introduce products to consumers. Marketing communication strategy is very important since it is related to the success that will be obtained by sellers through online marketing and direct marketing. The purpose of this research was to analyze the marketing communication strategy carried out by the owner of Online Shop @nellcodoxshop to build communication with the consumers. This research was done by using a qualitative approach. The data collection in this research was done through several ways adjusted to the research focus and objectives, using interviews, observation, literature study, documentation, and internet searching. This research found that the marketing communication strategy carried out by the Online Shop @nellcodoxshop is by using the social media of Instagram. The communication process carried out by the Online Shop @nellcodoxshop in marketing the products through Instagram social media is to implement a directed communication strategy, and includes a communication component (source, message, media, recipient, effects and feedback).
