Abstract

Curriculum innovation is an innovation effort in order to improve something that already exists. oday's leading schools are increasingly in demand, for this reason, Al Abidin Islamic Junior High School has made innovations in the field of curriculum to meet the wishes of the community. The objectives of this study are: 1) to determine the innovation of the Tahfidz curriculum and the innovation of the international program curriculum. 2) knowing the advantages of SMPI Al Abidin Surakarta. 3) knowing what are the supporters and obstacles in the innovation of the Tahfidz curriculum and the innovation of the international program curriculum. In this study, using descriptive research, namely research that describes the innovation of the Tahfidz curriculum and international programs for the development of superior schools in SMP al Abidin in the 2019/2020 academic year. The data in this study were collected from interviews, observation and documentation. The results of research on the innovation of the tahfidz curriculum and international programs for the development of superior schools in Islamic junior high school al Abidin, Surakarta in the 2019/2020 academic year in the innovation of the tahfidz curriculum and innovation in the international program curriculum in this school are in accordance with the stages in implementing curriculum innovation from planning, implementation, organizing, and evaluating. As for what makes SMPI Al Abidin superior, namely as an Islamic school that has various excellent curriculum programs such as the TCP Program (Tahfidzul Qur'an Class Program) and the ICP Program (International Class Program). Supporting factors: there is support and encouragement from the foundation to always innovate, then schools make innovation efforts with long stages to produce good innovations, then collaboration between school heads and good teachers so as to create an atmosphere conducive to innovating with good results. Then good cooperation between teachers and school principals, adequate infrastructure on the way to innovate in this school. Meanwhile, the obstacle to innovation in the tahfidz curriculum and innovation in international programs is the lack of fit for the teacher or curriculum development staff, which results in a slow process and becomes less than optimal.
