Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of balancing funds, regional independence, and regional income growth on education function expenditures. The research population is all regencies/cities in Java that are registered with the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance (DJPK) in 2017-2019. The sampling technique used purposive sampling method with a final sample of 65 districts/cities. The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from the Budget Realization Report (LRA) and the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) with a total of 188 panel data. Testing the data using multiple linear regression. The results showed that the balancing fund had an effect on spending on education functions, while regional independence and regional income growth had no effect on spending on education functions.
