Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic is currently endemic in various parts of the world, causing respiratory tract infections in humans with Cough and fever symptoms. There is widespread concern for the community, this can affect sleep quality and sleep patterns that cause insomnia. The purpose of this study is to find out the description of insomnia during the Covid-19 pandemic in early adult individuals (18-25 years) in The Laweyan Sub-District. This study hypothesizes that there is an influence of gender on insomnia disorders during the covid-19 pandemic in early adulthood (18- 25 years) in The Laweyan Sub-District. The sample of this study amounted to 281 people with criteria, namely early adults aged 18-25 years who did not experience acute physical disorders or illnesses and lived in Laweyan District. Using purposive sampling technique and quantitative data analysis techniques including descriptive statistics. Data was collected using the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) scale instrument with a Likert scale, given in a printout and a google form. The results showed that respondents experienced "mild" insomnia (39.9%), "moderate" insomnia (31.3%) and "severe" insomnia (2.5%), and "no insomnia" (26,3%). The results of the independent sample t- test, the value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.474 (p>0,05) which means that there is no significant difference between the sexes of men and women so that the hypothesis in this study is rejected. In this study, students' jobs were more dominant in experiencing insomnia during the Covid-19 pandemic and the sleep disturbance experienced by the community greatly affected their daily activities, this happens because of psychological factors, environmental factors, sleep habits and health problems.
