Abstract

This study aims to examine: (1) the suitability of the material for mathematics student books for grade VI curriculum 2013 published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in the revised edition of 2018 in terms of the 5M scientific approach, (2) the suitability of the material for textbooks for mathematics students for grade VI curriculum 2013 published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in the revised edition of 2018 in terms of Bell Criteria. This study uses a qualitative research approach with the type of content analysis research, with documentation data collection techniques. The object of this research is the 2013 revised 2018 edition of the sixth grade mathematics book published by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The subject of this research is mathematics material for class VI semester 1 and semester 2 which includes four chapters, namely: Chapter 1 Integers, chapter 2 circles, chapter 3 wake up space, and chapter 4 statistics. The data analysis carried out in this study is an interactive model data analysis as proposed by Miles & Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data in this study was carried out in two ways, namely by observation and expert judgment. The results of the research from data analysis, namely (1) The suitability of student book material with a scientific approach obtained an average percentage of 85.84% with a very good category with details of Chapter 1 integers the percentage of conformity was 85%, Chapter 2 circle 86.67% , Chapter 3 building space 86.67%, and chapter 4 statistics the percentage of conformity is 85%, (2) The suitability of student book material with Bell's criteria obtains an average percentage of 85.84% in the very good category with details of Chapter 1 integers the percentage of conformity is 75%, Chapter 2 is 92.60% circle, Chapter 3 is 88.89%, and chapter 4 statistics is 90.28%.
