Abstract
The congregational midday prayer can be a forum for instilling the values of Islamic religious education. At MTs Negeri 2 Sukoharjo, the congregational midday prayer has been canceled regularly. The congregational midday prayer is held with the aim of instilling the values of Islamic religious education in students, these values are instilled through several teacher methods including exemplary, reward and punishment and persuasive methods. The purpose of this study was to describe the inculcation of Islamic religious education values in class VIII students through habituation of midday prayers at MTs Negeri 2 Sukoharjo in the 2020/2021 academic year. This study uses a qualitative approach with field studies at MTs Negeri 2 Sukoharjo. Data collection techniques by observation, interviews, and also documentation obtained directly from the school. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach that begins with data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions using deductive methods. The results of this study can be concluded that the cultivation of Islamic religious education values in class VIII students is carried out through the habit of praying the midday prayer in congregation. The inculcation of these values is carried out through exemplary, reward and punishment and persuasive methods. Based on these efforts, students have an awareness that they have always performed congregational prayers while at school and at home. They have implemented the wisdom of praying the midday prayer in congregation, namely by being disciplined in worship, being diligent in praying and being orderly in prayer.
