Abstract

Obsession is a behavior that every human being has. It is normal when someone having obsession onto something. Usually people with obsession doesn’t realize that their having obsession. It means that people do it subconscious. Obsession for perfection means someone is trying to chase perfection in many ways and thus becoming as an obsession. A lot of people do this because they want to look perfect in front of everybody and willing to do whatever it takes to make themselves as perfect as possible One of the film that took obsession for perfection issues is Black Swan by Darren Aronofsky. The technique in this study using by literature. This study to analyze the obsession for perfection reflected in Black Swan movie. This study is psychoanalysis theory. The two data sources employed were primary data taken from the film and secondary data gathered from past studies, theses, and journals relevant to this study. There are three results found. First there are five indicators of obsession for perfection contained in Black Swan movie. Second the depiction of obsession for perfection and the last is the reason of obsession for perfection become the biggest issue in Black Swan Movie.
