Abstract
Lurik is a fabric made with non-machine weaving tools by crossing longitudinal threads according to the length of the fabric or called warp threads with transverse threads or weft threads. This research aims to describe the development of the traditional lurik market in Tlingsing Cawas Village. This research is a qualitative research design with a history of economy research design. Collecting data in this study by means of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data in this study was tested through triangulation of source data. The stages of data analysis techniques are heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, historiography. The results of this study explain that the characteristics of lurik products are seen from the way of making it using ATBM, the density of the lurik and the type of motif. Lurik's market direction uses a complex marketing system in which sellers act as manufacturers, agents and retailers. This study concludes that the development of the traditional lurik market is based on the characteristics of the product, the characteristics of the direction of the lurik market and the characteristics of the seller. This is to sort out the quality of coarse and fine striations, pricing according to the quality of striations, promotions, distribution, sales levels and target markets.
