Abstract

Practical activities are one of the important components that cannot be separated from science learning. The existence of laboratories in schools plays a role as a means of supporting practical activities. Practicum can run optimally if it is carried out in a laboratory that is in accordance with standards. Minimum standards for laboratories are listed in Permendiknas No. 24 years 2007 and Permendikbud No. 8 years 2018. The purpose of this study is to determine the profile of the science laboratory at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta in terms of the completeness of facilities and infrastructure. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques using observation, documentation and interviews. The results showed that the suitability of science laboratory facilities and infrastructure based on Permendiknas No. 24 years 2007 and Permendikbud No. 8 years 2018 obtained their respective percentages: 1) laboratory space 100% (very good), 2) furniture 96.4% (very good) , 3) educational media 92.3% (very good), 4) experimental tools 70.2% (good), 5) consumables 82.1% (very good), 6) safety equipment 0% (not good) , 7) additional equipment 83.3% (very good). The conclusion from this study is that the science laboratory profile of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta in terms of the completeness of facilities and infrastructure is included in the good category with an average percentage of 76.9% of 100% of the minimum standards listed in Permendiknas No. 24 years 2007 and Permendikbud No. 8 years 2018.
