Abstract

This study aims to describe the social life of housewives who make pandan leaf mats and describe the social life of family housewives who make pandan leaf mats. The research method used qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. In this study, researcher was directly involved in researching an activity to obtain detailed and comprehensive information. The results showed that the social life of housewives who made pandan leaf mats in the community was very well and harmoniously intertwined. In their daily lives they prioritize harmony and help each other. In neighbors there is never a fight. They even help each other in preserving the cultural heritage of their ancestors. The social life of housewives who make pandan leaf mats in the family environment is very balanced. There are no difficulties and obstacles for housewifes in dividing time between earning a living, taking care of the family, and spending time with family. Conclusion: (1) The social life of housewives who make pandan leaf mats in interacting between communities is very harmonious. (2) The social life of housewives who produce pandan leaf mats has no difficulty in dividing her time between earning a living, managing the family, and spending time with her family.
