Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of sunlight intensity on the growth of red spinach (Alternanthera amoena Voss) plants. This study used an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 1 factor with 5 repetitions. The factor used is the intensity of sunlight which includes P1 = 100% sunlight intensity, P2 = 75% sunlight intensity, P3 = 50% sunlight intensity, P4 = 25% sunlight intensity on red spinach plants. The results showed that the significant effect on the growth of red spinach. Overall, the growth of red spinach that has optimal results is found in the treatment with 100% sunlight intensity (P4). The parameters of plant height, number of leaves, and leaf width of red spinach were 12.48 cm, 9.8 leaves, 2.6 cm, respectively. While the growth of red spinach which has less than optimal results is found in the treatment with 25% sunlight intensity (P1). The parameters of plant height, number of leaves, and leaf width of red spinach were 4.84 cm, 3 leaves, 0.78 cm.
