Abstract
Advances in science and technology encourage the creation of sophisticated equipment that can facilitate and speed up human work. With the rapid advancement of technology, of course, it must be balanced with good education as well. Good education is not only about the curriculum but also the availability of educational support facilities. For example, in practicum activities, supporting facilities are needed to maximize the delivery of material, one of which is using a practicum trainer. Practicum trainers also need to be developed so that they can provide a clear picture of an equipment/product and increase the ease of understanding the material. In this study, a freight elevator trainer was made as a teaching aid by taking operating examples for the purpose of moving goods in a 3 floor building. This trainer has a towering design with a height of 50 cm which is divided into 3 parts and is made of 1 cm x 1 cm wooden lis as the main frame. Using a PLC control system that can be entered into a program that can later move the lift both down and up. Utilizing a 12 volt DC electric motor as a mechanical for the lift, using a push button to operate the lift manually and using a limit switch that functions as a sensor. In order to obtain good results, this research uses the literature study method, design making, PLC program creation, trainer manufacture and in the last stage a trainer operation trial is carried out.
