Abstract
This study is a study that aims to find out how an ARMY fanboy forms his identity in the ARMY community as a Bangtan Seonyeondan (BTS) fans. This identity is neededby ARMY fanboys as a differentiator beween themselves and other ARMY members and fanboys in the ARMY community. In this study, usig a qualitative research method with a male BTS fans with an age range of 15-20 years old as the sample of this reseach, and interviews asdata collection methods. So that the result obtained in this study are, fanboy ARMY forms his identity through the concept of “I” and “me”, where te concept “I” is how fanboy ARMY understands himself as a BTS fan through understanding himselfand how he deew what his idoldisplays in every opportunity. While the concept of "me" is how fanby ARMY understands himself as an ARMY through negotiations between messages received from the social environment and how he interprets his idol in BTS.
