Abstract
This study aims to describe the increase in learning activeness in economic learning as well as to describe the increase in learning outcomes through the Direct Instruction Method in class XI IPS at the Primagama Tutoring Institute, Ponorogo. This type of research is a classroom action research conducted in two stages of the cycle. The subjects in this study were the teachers and students of class XI tutoring, totaling 7 students. The data collection methods used were observation, tests, field notes, and documents. The results showed that student activity and student learning outcomes had increased. Before the action was taken, the students' economic learning outcomes who completed were 28.57%,%, in the first cycle the economic learning outcomes of students who completed increased to 57.14%, in the second cycle the economic learning outcomes increased to 85.71%. Based on the research data, it can be concluded that the Direct Instruction learning method can increase student activity and economic learning outcomes in class XII IPS at the Primagama Tutoring Institute, Ponorogo.
