Abstract
Food poisoning events often occur in the provision of food for the masses. Food poisoning can be caused by contamination of tableware, one of which is the habit of Indonesian people who use washcloths repeatedly. This study aims to determine the difference between the use of washcloths repeatedly on the number of germs on the plate. This type of research is an experiment with the Total Plate Count (TPC) method. This approach was used to determine the effect of using a washcloth after using 1 to 3 times on the number of germs on plates with 2 replications. The study population was 30 plates and the samples used were 6 plates which were taken randomly. The results of this study indicate that the use of 1x, 2x, and 3x washcloths is still able to reduce the number of germs on the plate. Based on the One Way Anova test, it is known that the P value obtained is 0.151 > 0.01, which means there is no difference between the use of rags and the number of germs on the plate. From the results of the study, it can be said that the use of 3 times cloth can still reduce the number of germs.
