Abstract

This research examines the Role of Islamic Religious Education Teachers in Improving the Religious Attitudes of Muslim Students at SMP Negeri 1 Teras Boyolali. Religious attitudes are formed through several aspects. The self-condition of students at SMP Negeri 1 Teras Boyolali both from external and internal conditions greatly affects the formation and improvement of students' religious attitudes. This can be seen from the attitudes and behaviors shown by students in practicing and living the teachings of Islam. Seeing the low attitudes of students today, Islamic Religious Education Teachers must pay more attention to students who have inappropriate or bad attitudes. This study has the objective of 1) to describe the factors causing the low religious attitudes of Muslim students at SMP Negeri 1 Teras Boyolali. 2) Describe the role of Islamic religious education teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Teras Boyolali in improving the religious attitudes of Muslim students. This type of research is qualitative research. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis using data analysis technique used in this research is qualitative analysis. Researchers observe and collect data from interviews, observation and documentation. The analysis used is using the inductive thinking method, which departs from real data or research results in the field, then links it with the theories that have been made as a basis for thinking, then correlated and conclusions drawn. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the role of the teacher in improving the religious attitudes of Muslim students through school programs that have been established and implemented through the guidance and habituation stages of students. The driving factor for the increasing religious attitude of Muslim students was the encouragement from parents and peers, and from the students themselves. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors for increasing the religious attitude of Muslim students are that students have different religious basics and the lack of direct monitoring from the teacher.
