Abstract

The condition of prediabetes which is characterized by blood sugar levels that are not included in the category of diabetes but are too high to be said to be normal are often not known or realized by a person due to lack of information about prediabetes. There are several methods that can be used in providing information, one of which is by using video media. This study aims to determine the effect of video on the knowledge level of sub-district office employees in the Surakarta area. This type of research is quantitative research, with a quasi-experimental research design with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were 70 employees of the sub-district office in Surakarta, the number of samples was 30 respondents who were divided into 2 groups, namely 15 respondents from the experimental group and 15 respondents from the control group and the sample was taken using simple random sampling technique. Collecting data using a questionnaire with 20 questions made by researchers and has been tested for validity and reliability tests. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon sign rank test with a significance level of = 0.05. The results showed that there was an effect of education with video on the level of knowledge in the experimental group with a significance value of 0.001 ≤ 0.05, while in the control group there was no effect with a significance value of 0.253 ≥ 0.05. Increased knowledge is influenced by several factors, the most important of which is the ability of each respondent to understand an information presented in the form of a video. Suggestions for office employees to continue to take preventive measures to avoid prediabetes.
