Introduction: Quality of life is an individual's subjective assessment of his current life position in several aspects of life, namely the ability to move, self-care, usual activities, feeling comfortable or uncomfortable and anxiety. Previous studies have found that individuals with grade II hypertension have a lower quality of life than individuals without grade II hypertension. Methods: This type of research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The sample in this study used accidental sampling, namely hypertension sufferers of 83 respondents at Puskesmas 1 Banyudono. The research questionnaire consisted of 26 questions on quality of life, pulse frequency was obtained through direct observation of patients. The data analysis technique used univariate and bivariate analysis with chi square crosstab test. Results: The study showed that the blood pressure value of hypertensive patients with level 1 hypertension was 54.2%, the pulse frequency of hypertensive patients was dominated by the normal category (85.5%). The quality of life of patients with hypertension is dominated by the normal category 59.0%. There is a relationship between blood pressure and quality of life of patients with hypertension with a significance value of 0.001 with a strong correlation value of 0.857; and there is a relationship between pulse frequency and quality of life of patients with hypertension with a significance value of 0.001 with a moderate correlation value of 0.494. Conclusion: there is a relationship between blood pressure and pulse frequency on the quality of life of hypertensive patients in the Banyudono I Public Health Center.
