Abstract

This research is trying to describe the interpretation of fa>h}isyah contained in the book of tafseer al-Ibri>z. In the Qur’an, lafadz fa>h}isyah is mentioned 24 times in 23 different verses. Eight of them are the focus of discussion in this research, namely surah an-Nisa>’ verse 25, surah al-An’a>m verse 151, surah al-A’ra>f verse 28 and 80, surah an-Nu>r verse 21, surah an-Naml verse 54, surah al-‘Ankabu>t verse 28 and surah an-Najm verse 32. One of the reasons behind this research is lafadz fa>h}isyah and its derivation is only interpreted as a vile deeds. Then the book of Tafseer al-Ibri>z by K.H. Bisri Mustofa was chosen as the main source because it is important to preserve the interpretation of the Qur’an in local language. Therefore, this discussion is about the methods and patterns in the book of tafseer al-Ibri>z and K.H. Bisri Mustofa’s interpretation of fa>h}isyah verses. This type of research is literature with an interpretive descriptive approach. While the method of analysis in this research used descriptive analysis which was carried out by means of content analysis. With these methods and approaches, four themes of discussion were found in the verses of the Qur’an with the lafadz fa>h}isyah. The conclusion obtained from this research is the method of interpretation used in tafseer al-Ibri>z namely tah}li>li> (descriptive-analytical). As for the style of interpretation, it includes the style of fiqhi, social community (al-ada>bi al-ijtima>’i), tasawuf (s}u>fi) and education (tarbawi>). Regarding the interpretation of fa>h}isyah, the interpretation of al-Ibri>z is divided into 4 themes of discussion, namely fa>h}isyah in the sense vile deeds (bad behavior), adultery, syirik and homosexuality.
