Abstract
This research aims to determine the developments that occur in manufacturing companies in the basic and chemical industrial sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2017-2019 by examining the stock returns of all issuers with several variables that affect both fundamentals and technicals. Fundamental variables such as Earning Per Share (EPS), Return On Equity (ROE), Interest Rates, and technical variables, namely Past Stock Prices. The population of this study are manufacturing companies in the basic and chemical industry sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2017-2019. Sampling was done by purposive sampling, amounting to 56 of 72 companies with specified criteria with an error rate of 5%. Data analysis was performed by statistical description, selecting the best model, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, t test, F test and coefficient of determination (R)2. Based on the results of the study with a significance level of 5%, it shows that Earning Per Share (EPS) has a positive and significant effect on stock returns. Return On Equity (ROE) has a negative and significant effect on stock returns. Interest Rate (IR) has a positive and insignificant effect on stock returns. Past stock prices have a negative and significant effect on stock returns.
