Abstract
Klaten Regency is a district that has the potential for natural resources in the form of springs. One of them is Umbul Besuki which was developed by Pokja 4 Kiringan with the Ponggok Village government as a water tourism object. There is a lot of competition for water attractions in Klaten, making the management and village government to be smart in making strategies and innovations in developing tourism objects in order to be able to compete in creating new market spaces where other tourist attractions do not have them. This study aims to identify internal and external factors in Umbul Besuki and design a development strategy for tourism objects in business competition. The method used in this research is SWOT analysis and Blue Ocean Strategy. The results of this study are Umbul Besuki is in quadrant I which means the situation is very profitable by having strengths and opportunities in the market, strategic design through the implementation of Blue Ocean Strategy, namely strategy focus by increasing the variables of rides, services, security, promotions and culinary. Movement away (Divergence) by creating new innovations including ecotourism, outdoor weddings, glamping ground and paid attractions. The motto proposed for Umbul Besuki is "University of Nature".
