The load factor is one of the determinants of the load characteristics obtained from the comparison between the average load and the peak load in a certain period of time. There are several sectors of electricity use including the household sector, the industrial sector, the commercial sector and the business sector. The household sector experienced more volatile increases in electricity. This is because customers use electricity more dominantly at night. This is often referred to as the peak load time. The need for electricity during peak loads can result in inefficient electricity consumption. The higher the load factor value, the more evenly distributed the system load. There are several groups in the household sector, including R1 (450 VA), R1 (900VA), R1 (2200VA), R2 (3500-5500 VA), R2 (6600 VA and above ). Load factor can be used for selecting the appropriate and economical capacity of the transformer. This study aims to determine the average load value, peak load value, load factor value in each group and to analyze the load factor using the k-means clustering method. This study also aims to determine whether the transformer that has been installed is in accordance with customer needs. The results in this study can be concluded that value of the load factor in the household sector at PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Pedan the highest load factor is in the R.1 / 450 VA I tariff group in March, which is 0,816 and the lowest is 0,214 in the R.2 / 3.500 VA s.d 5.500 VA tariff group. The results of the load factor clustering, there are at least two members in cluster 2, which shows a high load factor value compared to the other two clusters. Results of cluster 0 and cluster 1 have six members each. The transformer capacity in the calculation is larger than the transformer capacity installed in the field.
