Abstract

BLDC is a type of brushless electric motor that has various advantages. The advantages include high efficiency, saving maintenance costs and not making too much noise because the commutation is done electronically without a brush. Because of this, BLDC motors are in great demand by manufacturers in various fields, industry, health, agriculture, and do not miss the field of electric vehicle transportation. This motor is categorized as PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor). But in reality, controlling the speed of BLDC motors has a problem, namely, the resulting output often does not match the desired set point value (reference value). So when the BLDC motor is applied it becomes less effective. Thus we need a control system that can overcome these problems. The control system is PID (Proportional, Integral, and Derivative). The purpose of this study is to find the PID parameter value using the Ziegler-Nichols method, then analyze the performance of each controller. This modeling and simulation is carried out using the matlab Simulink software. After the modeling is built and simulated, the PID parameter is obtained, with a Kp value of 0.6996, a Ki value of 2.3320, and a Kd value of 0.0525. Then the transient response and system response from each controller are compared and seen from the results of the best performance from this study is the PI controller.
