Abstract

The natural tourism area in Karanganyar Regency in the last three years has a stable level of tourist visits, but increasing the number of visitors is not an optimal result of work so it is necessary to maintain the conditions and uniqueness of natural tourism. The purpose of this study was to determine the classification of the internal and external potential of natural tourism objects, to analyze the dominantfactors that affect the level of potential and development, and to determine the priority scale of the development of natural tourism areas. The research method is in the form of observation and in-depth interviews conducted with the government and each natural tourism object. The results showed that natural tourism objects that have high class potential are Grojogan Sewu Waterfall, Jumog Waterfall, Parang Ijo Waterfall, Sekipan Campground and Sakura Lawu Hill. Tourism objects that have medium class potential are Tahura, Madirda Lake, Paragliding Hill, Pringgodani Waterfall and Sewall Sewawar Waterfall. Dominant factors that affect nature tourism in the form of improving accessibility, the role of government, private sector and promotion of information. The priority scale of natural tourism development that must be paid more attention to is the Sewall and Sewawar waterfall tourism objects in order to become a superior tourist area.
