Abstract

Cigarettes use recently increase significantly. The effect of electronic cigarettes use associated with human health still under development from many study. Smoking is responsible for substantial cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. One of the most common diseases in the cardiovascular system is athreosclerosis. This research try to find any evidence show that electronic cigarettes use has impacts on development of the atherosclerosis and this research try to explain some factors and pathophysiological mechanism that responsible for the atherosclerosis development. Systematic review was conducted using PUBMED an SCIENCE DIRECET database. Identifying experimental studies investigating electronic cigarettes effect on cardiovascular health. 9 article was included, after filtering processes using PRISMA methods. 5 article investigating electronic cigarettes effect on human directly, and 4 article was in vitro and in vivos studies. From this review we can suggest that electronic cigarettes have a significant effect on the development of atherosclerosis with some mechanisms responsble for that development. The mechanismes responsible for the development of atherosclerosis can be measured using some spesific biomarkers which have a role in every step of pathopysiological mechanism.
