Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and quality of life in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. The method used is a quantitative method. The variables studied were the dependent variable (quality of life) and the independent variable (social support). The population is patients suffering from Diabetes Mellitus type II with a vulnerable age of 46-80 years (both male and female) who are recorded at the Dr. RSUP Hospital. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten, Central Java, totaling 40 people. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. Data collection used 3 stages, namely the first stage before the covid-19 pandemic within ± 1 month by giving a Questionnaire, the second stage during the covid-19 pandemic the researcher asked for the subject number to the hospital so that they could conduct research again. In the third stage, the researcher contacted the subject via Whatsapp because the subject in question did not like the researcher to come to his house by asking questions to the subject one by one according to the contents of the questionnaire which amounted to 5 people. Data collection tool with Likert model. Measuring tool with quality of life scale and social support scale. Testing with assumption test, normality test, linearity test, hypothesis test. The results showed that there was a positive relationship between social support and quality of life in type II Diabetes Mellitus patients.
