Abstract

Ainul Qoyim, S200190002. Social Values in the Corona Poetry Collection Opens the Eyes of the Universe with the Sociology of Literature Approach and its Implementation in Literature Learning in Elementary Schools. Thesis. Graduate School, Master of Indonesian Language Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, 2021. This study aims to (1) describe the structure of the poems in the collection of poems Corona Opens the Eyes of the Universe; (2) describe the social values contained in the poems of the Corona poetry collection Opening the Eyes of the Universe; and (3) describe the implementation of the results of research on social values in the collection of poems Corona Opens the Eyes of the Universe in learning literature in elementary schools. This research approach is descriptive qualitative. Collecting data using library techniques, listen, and take notes. The data analysis method uses the dialectical method to find social values after conducting a careful search of the poems. The results of this study indicate (1) The structure of the poems in the Corona Opening the Eyes Semesta poetry collection consists of a physical structure and an inner structure. (2) The social values contained in the poems of Corona Opens the Eyes of the Universe are: (a) material values, (b) vital values, (c) religious/spiritual values which consist of truth values, goodness values, and religious values/deity; (3) Implementation of the results of research on social values in the collection of Corona poems Opening the Eyes of the Universe in learning literature in elementary schools, namely: (a) increasing students' vocabulary through activities to determine diction in poetry, (b) increasing students' skills in understanding and determining figure of speech through activities determine figurative language in poetry, (c) train sensitivity to society, culture, and the environment as well as sharpen students' feelings, reasoning, imagination through activities to determine imagination, concrete words, diversification, and typography in poetry, (d) improve students' abilities in understand the content of poetry through activities to determine the theme of the poem, train the sensitivity of feelings towards society, culture, and the environment of students through activities to determine feelings, tone and atmosphere in poetry.
