Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the types of single transformation sentences in the structure of the review text. (2) Describe the structure of the review text which is often found in single transformation sentences. (3) Describe the comparison between types of single transformation sentences in the structure of the review text. The method used is qualitative. The data in this study is a single transformation sentence. The source of the data in this study is a review text made by students of SMP N 1 Mojolaban. The object of this research is a review text essay written by students. The subjects of this research are single transformation sentences in the form of addition, subtraction, shortening, and replacement. This study uses data collection techniques with literature study, listening, and note-taking techniques. The validity of the data in this study was carried out using triangulation theory. The analytical technique used in this study is the agih method with advanced reading and marking techniques. The results of this study found that the type of single transformation sentence contained in the review text of SMP N 1 Mojolaban students found 31 data is, namely a single transformation sentence adding an adverb of time, a single transformation sentence adding an adverb of place, a single transformation sentence adding an adverb, a single transformation sentence adding an adverb modality statement, general omitting single transformation sentence, syntactic replacement single transformation sentence, single transformation sentence shortening one to se-, and single transformation sentence shortening equal (with) to se-. The single transformation sentence adding the adverb of time is 5, the sentence of the single transformation adding the adverb of place is 6, the sentence of the single transformation adding the adverb of method is 2, the sentence of the single transformation adding the adverb of modality is 2, the sentence of the single transformation of subtraction being 2, the sentence of the single transformation of the replacement being 2, and the shortening single transformation sentence is 4. It was found that there were 6 pulses of transformation sentences focused on the subject and the number of transformation sentences focused on the object was 1. In the review text structure section, which often found single transformation sentences were the orientation structure, synopsis, and analysis. In this study, the structure of the review text that is often found using single sentences is the orientation. In the orientation structure section, it is often found using a single transformation sentence with the addition of an adverb of place, a single transformation sentence with an addition of an adverb of time, and a single transformation sentence with an addition of an adverb. The orientation structure found 16 single-transformed sentences, the synopsis found 9 single-transformed sentences, and the analysis found 6 single-transformed sentences. Overall the data that has been described above the transformation sentences that are most commonly found are the transformation sentences of adverbs of place. The structure of the review text consists of parts of identity, orientation, synopsis, analysis, evaluation, and closing. Of the six components, one often finds a single transformation sentence is the orientation part.
