Abstract
This study aims to find out how roleplayers form a virtual identity and how they can portray these characters on social media by covering up their real identities. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with descriptive analysis. The sample selection technique used purposive sampling with a sample of 3 roleplayers as informants in this study. The technique of collecting data is by using interview techniques with roleplayer players and documentation by doing screenshots of roleplay player accounts and their activities. The validity of the data using data triangulation analysis. This research was conducted on the social media Line, which is a place for Roleplayer players to use in doing roleplaying activities. The result of this research is that roleplayers form their virtual identities by borrowing faces, occupations, backgrounds and birthdays to form their new identities in the world of roleplaying.
