Abstract

Abstract The duties and efforts of education require an educator to instill morality in their students. In PAI subjects, a religious teacher has a responsibility to produce human beings with noble character. In online learning, it is very important to have moral development for the good of the students themselves. Each educator has different methods and efforts in conducting coaching according to the perceived situation. However, they still have the same goal, namely to realize the coaching to get the best results. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The informants of this study were 2 PAI teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Punung Pacitan. This study uses data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used was data collection, data clarification, and data conclusion. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The efforts to build morals carried out by PAI teachers include providing guidance by using prayer journals, summarizing the contents of tausiyah, delivery of material related to praiseworthy behavior through group chats and private chats (if necessary) to students, provide examples, and provide good habits to students. The media used include Whatsapp and Zoom. (2) The supporting factors found were good cooperation between homeroom parents, teachers, and peers. While the inhibiting factors are communication, environment, diversity of students' characteristics. (3) The description of students 'morals during online learning at SMP Negeri 1 Punung Pacitan as a whole is considered not showing good results, students' morals that can be observed are morals in terms of worship, dress, and politeness.
