Abstract
Forward Head Posture (FHP) is a head posture that moves forward towards the sagittal plane, and is generally caused by various factors, one of which is maintaining a non-ergonomic position for a long duration which is often encountered in students, especially students. Maintaining this posture shortens the muscles around the neck, namely the sternocleidomastoid (SCM) and scalenus anterior and lengthens the levator scapula and posterior capitis major semispinalis muscles. Research objectives to determine the relationship between duration and sitting position on Forward Head Posture (FHP) for Santri at Al-Hariri Islamic Boarding School, Tebo Ilir District. Research method with quantitative analytical approach and cross sectional study design on 82 respondents using purposive sampling technique. Data collection by filling out questionnaires, Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) and photograpy measured using the APECS application. Results: with a value of p = 0.000 (p<0.05) and r = 1.00, indicating that there is a significant relationship with the strength of a very strong relationship and the direction of a positive relationship between duration and sitting position on Forward Head Posture (FHP) in Santri at the Al-Hariri Islamic Boarding School, Tebo Ilir District. The results show that the duration and sitting position greatly affect the Forward Head Posture (FHP) complaints by maintaining the wrong position for a long duration will have an impact on Forward Head Posture (FHP) complaints.
