Abstract
This research investigates the English teacher’s perception on the shift from offline to online teaching-learning during covid-19 pandemic in SMA N 1 Gemolong. It aims at (1) analyzing the English teacher’s perceptions of the shift from offline to online teachinglearning during covid-19 pandemic at SMA N 1 Gemolong, (2) finding the problems faced by the English teachers in conducting online learning during covid-19 pandemic at SMA N 1 Gemolong. The subjects of this research are two English teachers at SMA N 1 Gemolong. This is a descriptive qualitative research in which the researchers used interview to collect the data. The results show 1) the English teachers perceived that online learning was complicated and inefficient. They faced difficulty to adapt and conduct online learning. 2) The problems faced by the English teachers are student’s low participation, difficulty in managing the class, difficulty in accessing the internet, and lack of devices.
