Abstract
Adolescent knowledge in Indonesia about sexuality and reproductive health is not sufficient. One of the reasons for this is the lack of adolescent-parent communication about sexuality and reproductive health. This study aims to analyze the sex relationship, adolescent-parental sex compatibility, and parental credibility as a source of information for adolescent-parent communication about sexuality and reproductive health at SMPN 2 Ngawi. This type of research is analytic observational with a cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted at SMPN 2 Ngawi with as many as 237 students from grades 7 and 8 and the respondents were taken using proportional random sampling. The data collection technique in this research is using google form with dissemination through social media (whatsapp). The results showed that there was a relationship between gender and adolescent-parent communication (p=0.03), there was a relationship between parental credibility as a source of information and adolescent-parent communication about sexuality and reproductive health (p=0.01) and there was no relationship between the suitability of adolescent-parent sex with adolescent-parent communication about sexuality and reproductive health (p=0.140). There is a relationship between gender and parental credibility as a source of information with adolescent-parent communication about sexuality and reproductive health, and there is no relationship between gender conformity with adolescent-parent communication about sexuality and reproductive health. The importance of openness in sexuality and reproductive health communication between adolescents and parents can minimize the occurrence of risky behavior by adolescents and parents can continue to monitor the development of their adolescent children.
