Abstract

This study aims at knowing the relationship between emotional maturity and self-concept with the self adjustment of new santri (student of Islamis Boarding School). The subjects of this study were the new students of class VII MTs Kulliyatu-l-Mu'alimat Al-Islamiyah of Pondok Modern Arrisalah on International Program for the academic year 2020/2021, totaling 95 subjects. Sampling was done by using quota sampling technique. The method used in this research is quantitative with measuring instruments in the form of a self-adjustment scale, emotional maturity scale, and self-concept scale. The data analysis technique used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, it was obtained an R of 0.786 and a significance (p) of 0.000 (p <0.05), which means that there is a very significant relationship between emotional maturity variables and self-concept towards self adjustment of new students. Other results show a very significant positive relationship between emotional maturity and self-adjustment with a correlation result of r (x1y) of 0.786 with a significance (p) of 0.000 (p <0.05). In addition, there is a very significant positive relationship with the results of the correlation r (x2y) of 0.706 with a significance (p) of 0.000 (p <0.05). The effective contribution of emotional maturity and self-concept to self-adjustment of new students was 66.3%. The categorization results show the level of self-adjustment, emotional maturity and self-concept in the subject included in the high category.
