Abstract

Theresearch aims to:(1) Describe thelearning teaching factory to improve thestudents'competence machining programme SMK YP Colomadu . (2) Describe the factors that support and hinder the implementationteaching factory increasestudent competency machining programme SMK YP Colomadu .This research user a qualitative research type with adescrptive method where the research design used is phenomenology which presents acmplete social phenomenon that occurs naturally.Results of the study showed that there are three aspects of management that support the activities of teaching factory of planning activities that include planning management, competency standards specified, students and teachers while the implementation process includes the media, use of equipment, production process, the learning process of students. E valuation activities of teaching factory which includes monitoring of students, change students' abilities and evaluation of activities. Although this activity is still experiencing obstacles in the implementation of the teaching factory . There are efforts by the school to develop partnerships with other companies, and to synchronize the competency standards of the school curriculum with the competencies needed for DU/DI.The conclusions of the study is that p ime Frame teaching factory to improve the competence of students program the machining SMK YP Colo honey hasbeen running with good terms three aspects of management including planning, implementation, evaluation, and their inhibiting factors and supporting the teaching activities of the school and DUDI factory. Expected school and DU/DI maintain partnerships in thedevelopment of teaching factory Keywords: SMK, teaching factory, student competence.
