Abstract
Background: Frozen shoulder is an inflammatory condition of unknown etiology that results in the development of generalized glenohumeral joint synovitis later from a thickened fibrotic joint capsule resulting in loss of joint motion. Patients who have shoulder pain are characterized by painful motion restriction of active and passive shoulder movements. There are many interventions on frozen shoulder, one of which is the provision of hold relax techniques. Purpose : To determine the effect of hold relax technique on increasing the range of motion in frozen shoulder patients. Methods: This research was a pre-experiment type and used the one group pre-test and post-test design method, namely observing the results of the effect of the group by comparing two groups, namely group I was categorized as the treatment group and group II was categorized as the control group. In which the treatment group was given the infrared modality and hold relax technique and the control group was given the infrared modality. Results: Based on the results of the effect test using the paired sample t test in the treatment group, the value of sig. (2-tailed) <0.05 so that it has the effect of Ha accepted and H0 rejected, which is the effect of giving hold relax technique on the increase in LGS frozen shoulder. . Meanwhile, based on the influence test of the control group shows the sig. (2-tailed) value, the data obtained in Asymp.sig (2 Tailed) data is 0.043 for abduction, 0.041 for exorotation and 0.043 for endorotation, so the data is <0.05 so that it has an effect or Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected which is the effect of Infrared on LGS frozen shoulder. Conclusion: There is an effect of giving hold relax and infrared interventions, but if seen from the mean results between pre and post test in the treatment group it shows a more significant increase in the range of motion due to the effect of giving hold relax intervention.
