Abstract
Land use is a tangible manifestation of the influence of human activities on part of the physical surface of the earth. The factor that causes changes in land use is the increasing population, while the land area is constant. The research area is Jebres District, Surakarta City. This area is an urban area that allows socio-economy to play a role in land use change. The purpose of this study is to analyze the distribution of land use change in Jebres Subdistrict, Surakarta City in 2008 and 2020, to analyze the variability of the area and the factors that influence land use changes in Jebres Subdistrict, Surakarta City in 2008 and 2020. The sampling method in this study was using purposive sampling. Based on the results and analysis of this study, it can be seen that land use from 2008 to 2020 has increased. Residential land change is the highest from 659.09 Ha to 726.91 Ha, experiencing a significant increase of 67.82 Ha. This change is considered normal because Jebres District is one of the sub-districts located in Surakarta City and is one of the supporters of the economic aspect. The thing that is inversely proportional is the reduction of land for moor, reaching -33.71 Ha, from 91.32 to 57.61 Ha. Based on the results of the study, it is known that there are two main factors affecting land changes in Jebres District, Surakarta City in 2008 and 2020, namely population density and the availability of economic facilities. In 2008 the total population of the population in Jebres District was 142,292 people. In a period of 12 years, the population has increased to 3,384 people to 145,676 people in 2020. The availability of economic facilities is the second factor affecting land use changes in Jebres District. The most dominant change in land use was built in Jebres Subdistrict, Surakarta City, namely the change in land use for settlements.
