Abstract
Starting from the use of cash to transactions through certain applications with electronic money or e-money. This development certainly simplifies and speeds up the payment process. Transactions using electronic money make it unnecessary to carry cash, especially in large quantities and can be done without leaving the house using our own devices. This payment option is very helpful, especially in the COVID-19 pandemic condition. Apart from the advantages provided when transacting using electronic money, several shortcomings that require the accuracy of the account owner, such as accounts that are vulnerable to being hacked because they use software with an open network connection and not all merchants provide the tools needed to make transactions using electronic money. This study discusses the factors that might influence a person's decision when using electronic money in terms of the UTAUT theory or the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology developed by Venkatesh, Morris, Davis, and Davis (2003). The population in this study is all Indonesian people with electronic money users in 34 provinces in Indonesia as the research sample, based on data obtained from Google Trends in 2018-2020. The collected data are analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis methods. The results of data analysis indicate that performance expectancy, social influence, self-efficacy, and behavioural intention to use the system affect the interest in making payment transactions using e-money. Meanwhile, effort expectancy, attitude toward using technology, and anxiety do not affect the interest in making payment transactions using e-money.
