Abstract
Occupational Safety and Health is a right for formal and informal sector workers, as well as for welding. Welding workers are very vulnerable to work accidents due to the lack of knowledge of workers about the importance of K3 for welding. This study was to determine the relationship between knowledge of K3 and the practice of using PPE with the incidence of work accidents in Welding Workshop workers in Madiun Regency. This type of research is an observational quantitative study with a cross-sectional study approach. This research was conducted at the Welfare Workshop in Sangen Village, Geger District, Madiun Regency, East Java. The population in this study was all 35 workers of the Sejahtera Welding Workshop. The sample of this study was the entire working population. The research instrument used a questionnaire and a checklist sheet. Data analysis using Fisher's Exact test. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge of K3 (p-value = 0.007) and there was no relationship between the practice of using PPE (p-value = 1) and the incidence of work accidents in Welding Workshop workers in Madiun Regency. It is recommended that workers increase knowledge about K3 and increase awareness of the use of PPE. Welding Bengkel Sejahtera owners provide more complete PPE, provide socialization about K3 to workers and provide sanctions if workers do not use PPE.
