Abstract
Introduction: Breast milk is a nutritious food containing high energy that can be digested easily and plays a role in the process of baby growth and development. Based on data from Riskesdas (2018), Indonesia still has a low current coverage of exclusive breastfeeding which is 37.3% with 16 provinces are under the average national exclusive breastfeeding coverage. The success of exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia can be influenced by several factors; external and internal factors. Objective : This study aimed to determine the correlation between access to birth place and birth attendant with exclusive breastfeeding in Banten Province 2018. Results : The results of data processing showed that 52.3% of mothers who gave exclusive breastfeeding were 20-30 years old, 28.2% of mothers who gave exclusive breastfeeding had elementary school education, 83.9% of mothers who provide exclusive breastfeeding at the place of delivery in health facilities and 85.9% of mothers who provide exclusive breastfeeding with medical support. The results of statistical test analysis showed that there was no correlation between access to birth place (p value = 0.245) and birth attendant (p value = 0.192) with exclusive breastfeeding. Conclusion : There is no correlation between the support of birth attendant and exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 0-6 months.
