Abstract
Indonesia is an agricultural country, meaning that the agricultural sector plays an important role in the entire national economy. Brebes District ranks first in Southeast Asia in the use of pesticides. Pesticides are mostly used on shallot plants. Direct contact between farmers and pesticides causes the entry of pesticides into the body, the entry of pesticides into the body can cause various health complaints to shallot farmers. Purpose: This study aims to determine subjective health complaints on shallot farmers in the village of Tanjungsari, Kec. Wanasari Kab. Brebes. Methods: This type of research is qualitative research (Qualitative Research). Data collection techniques with in-depth interviews (in-deph interviews) to informants. The informants of this study consisted of eight main informants and five triagulation informants using purposive sampling technique. Results: The results showed that the informants experienced subjective health complaints about the use of pesticides from the insecticide class of eight, there were two informants experiencing headaches, five nausea, six muscle aches, four excessive sweating, two informants experienced blurred vision and one informant experienced heat on the skin. This health complaint is due to the incomplete use of PPE and active ingredients from pesticides. Four out of eight informants had their health checked when they experienced complaints about the use of pesticides to health workers. Conclusion: the informant has a complaint.
