Abstract
SMPN 1 Kelapa Kampit Belitung Timur is a school that has made innovative learning in reading the Qur'an during the Covid-19 pandemic. Which is integrated in the learning of Islamic Religious Education subjects. This innovation is to improve the students 'ability to read the Koran through the tartil method in class VII E. This research aims to (1) describe the improvement of students' ability to read the Koran through the tartile method in PAI class VII E. SMPN 1 Kelapa Kampit East Belitung Academic Year 2020-2021, (2) To describe the process of applying the Tartil method in improving the ability to read the Koran in PAI class VII E SMPN 1 Kelapa Kampit Belitung Timur academic year 2020-2021, ( 3) To identify what are the obstacles in the application of the tartile method to improve students' ability to read the Koran in PAI class VII E SMPN 1 Kelapa Kampit East Belitung for the academic year 2020-2021. The data collection method used was conducting descriptive research, the results of which were obtained by means of observation, documentation, and interviews. Primary data is obtained from the results of data collection techniques in schools, while secondary data is obtained from the literature that discusses the research title. Then after all the data obtained is arranged in a structured and systematic manner, data analysis is then carried out, using inductive-deductive analysis, which is checking the data by triangulating or comparing fact data in the field with data from various literature sources, then conclusions can be drawn on the research as well. as an answer to the formulation of research problems. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that the tartile method was able to improve the reading ability of the Qur'an for class VII E students of SMPN 1 Kelapa Kampit, East Belitung. The application of the tartil method explains in detail according to the rules of tajwid, so that the students' ability to read Al-Qur'an class VII E SMPN 1 Kelapa Kampit can improve. The obstacles in applying the tartil method come from students and teachers who are actors in reading Al-Qura'an using the tartil method.
