Abstract
The health condition of workers in the informal sector is still worrying, one of which is the porters where this job one of the jobs that is at risk of experiencing musculoskeletal disorder because they have unergonomic work posture, namely the position of the body bending when lifting items. This study was to determine the relationship between ergonomic risk factors and musculoskeletal disorder in female porters at Pasar Legi Surakarta. This type of research analytic observational with cross sectional approach. The population in this study were female porters of 271 people. The minimum sample is 78 people with the sampling technique is simple random sampling. The results showed that 74.4% respondents worked with ergonomic risk factors in the high category and 60.3% respondents experienced of muskuloskeletal disorders in the moderate category with 100% location of musculoskeletal disorder on the left shoulder, right shoulder, back, waist and 98.7 % of the left knee, 80.8% of the left thigh, and 75.6% of the right knee. The conclusion of this study that there a significant relationship between ergonomic risk factors and disorder of the musculoskeletal system in female porters with p-value = 0.046 (<0.05) with low relationship strength (r = 0.227) and the dircetion of the positive relationship. Suggestions that can be given are workers who have been doing work for 7 - 8 hours a day should no longer carry out lifting activities, in transporting goods workers should use trolley or something similar.
