Abstract
The research was conducted in Juwiring District Klaten Regency regarding the direct and indirect impacts of exploitation of Ingas Springs on rice farming. The purpose of this study was to (1) analyze the direct impact of exploitation of Ingas Springs on rice farming in Juwiring District Klaten Regency, (2) to analyze the indirect impact of exploitation of Ingas Springs on rice farming in Juwiring District Klaten Regency. The method used in this research is a survey method. The population in this study were 364 farmers in Juwiring District. Sampling was done by means of proportional stratified sampling. Data collection was carried out through observation and interviews with farmers who were affected by the exploitation of the Ingas Springs using a questionnaire as a tool and the data analysis methods used were descriptive comparative and quantitative descriptive. The results of this study are (1) exploitation of Ingas Springs directly impacts rice farming in Juwiring District in the form of insufficient availability of irrigation water, poor irrigation network conditions, and good irrigation management, (2) exploitation of Ingas Springs indirectly impacts rice farming in Juwiring District in the form of a decrease in arable land area, a decrease in rice productivity, an increase in fertilizer use, an increase in the use of pesticides, an increase in the number of laborers, an increase in farming costs, a decrease in farmer income, and an increase in the conversion of agricultural land being non-agricultural
