Abstract
This research aims to improve student’s mathematical literacy skills through the Discovery Learning model in class XI MIPA 4 even semester of SMA N 1 Subah. This research is a classroom action research conducted collaboratively between researcher and mathematics teacher. The class action recipients were 36 students of class XI MIPA 4 SMA N 1 Subah and the perpetrator of the classroom action was a mathematics teacher. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, field notes, and tests. The data analysis techniques used in this study were reduction, presentation and draw a conclusion. The results of this study are the increase in student’s mathematical literacy skills, this can be seen from each of the following indicators, 1) students who can formulate real problems in problem solving given by the teacher before the action are 5 students (13.89%), and after the action are 22 students (61.11%); 2) students who can use mathematics in problem solving given by the teacher before the action are 5 students (13.89%), and after the action are 26 students (72.22%); 3) students who can interpret the solutions in problem solving given by the teacher before the action are 7 students (19.44%), and after the action are 24 students (66.67%); 4) students who can evaluate solutions in problem solving given by the teacher before the action as many as 8 students (22.2%), and after the action as many as 23 students (63.89%).
