Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) determine the contribution of parenting style, the status of children in the family, and gender to the discipline of students at; 2) knowing the effective contribution of parental care, the status of children in the family, and gender to the discipline of students; 3) to know the relative contribution of parenting style, the status of children in the family, and gender to student discipline. This type of research in this research is to use quantitative research. The sample used in this study were 66 children with proportional random sampling to determine the distribution of each class from that class level. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire consisting of 2 questionnaires, namely the student discipline questionnaire and the parenting style questionnaire. To test the instrument using the validity test and reliability test. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression which previously carried out pre-requisite tests such as normality test, multicollinearity test, and heteroscedasticity test. The result of the analysis carried out is that there is a contribution of parenting styles, the status of children in the family and gender to student discipline. And from the average score of discipline, the most disciplined child is a girl with the status of an only child. The effective contribution in this study was 37.2%, while the relative contribution of each variable, namely parenting style, had a relative contribution of 94%, the status of children in the family had a relative contribution of 3%, and the gender variable had a relative contribution of 3%. .
