Abstract
Low Back Pain (LBP) is a symptom of pain in the lower back, pain in the form of local pain, radicular pain or both. One of the risk factors that can cause LBP is the use of high heels and the working period. Wearing high heels can result a change in posture as all body weight falls forward away from the line of gravity, this causes the body to compensate in the form of muscle contraction to maintain this new postural form, one of the most important is the erector spine muscle. If the contractions occur continuously it can cause muscle tension and trigger complaints of LBP. Meanwhile, the longer the working period of a person can cause fatigue in the muscles and bones which can also cause complaints of LBP. Research objective: to determine the relationship between heels height and the working period with complaints of Low Back Pain (LBP) on salesperson at Plaza Citra, Pekanbaru City. Methods: This study used a quantitative observational method using a cross sectional approach. The sample criteria taken were 18-35 years old. The procedure for collecting samples using purposive sampling. The height of the heels is measured using a ruler and the working periode is made in units of years and the pain scale is measured using the Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS). Results: Based on the Spearman's correlation test to the variable heels height and LBP, the Sig. (2 tailed) = 0.002 (<0.05) so it can be said that the variable heel height and low back pain has a significant relationship, while the Spearman's correlation test to the working period and LBP variables obtained a Sig value. (2 tailed) = 0.001 (<0.05) so that it can be said that the variable working periode and low back pain has a significant relationship. Conclusion: There is a relationship between heels height and the working period with complaints of LBP on salesperson at Plaza Citra, Pekanbaru City.
