Abstract

Ammonia (NH3) is one of the problems for fish cultivators, the cause of ammonia is the accumulation of leftover feed and fish excrement in the form of feces that accumulate and dissolve mixed with water. Handling ammonia by draining or reducing water and replenishing clear water is still done manually by fish cultivators, the process is less effective because it requires a long time in the process of draining water and replenishing pond water again, on this occasion the author conducted research and made a tool that is useful as monitoring in maintaining pool water quality automatically. In this study the authors provide quite a lot of features, namely as a pool water turbidity detector, a water level detector, an LCD (liquid crystal display) display to display the results of water monitoring, a buzzer as an indicator when there is a disturbance or problem at the pool water level, and using arduino as the microcontroller. This tool works automatically, from the results of the tool testing when the water turbidity value exceeds 400 NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Unit), the water will be drained or reduced through an electric tap and will be filled with clear water again to reduce the buildup of ammonia in the water which is controlled by Arduino, the water level is always monitored by ultrasonic sensors to keep it stable. The results of the water turbidity value and water level will be displayed on the LCD to facilitate the monitoring process of the fish pond.
